Thanks
Mahesh

The status "Suspended on Batteries"

There are several posibilities. You could

- connect your laptop (I assume it is one) to the mains supply.

- select "Run always" from the "Activity" menu in BOINC manager's advanced view.

- go to your Computing preferences and set

Suspend work while computer is on battery power? no
Matters only for portable computers

Hi Mahesh - welcome to

Hi Mahesh - welcome to Einstein! We hope you enjoy your stay here.

You have quite a few more now but none of the initial tasks are showing as having been returned yet. Until BOINC gets used to the usage patterns for your computer, it would be prudent to set your 'work cache' preferences to reasonably low values so as not to overload your machine with too much work which then becomes a burden to complete before the deadline. If you have an 'always on' internet connection, BOINC can always get more work quickly when it is needed.

When you consider the alternatives that Gundolf has listed, please understand that there are some consequences.

  • * If you change your 'activity' setting locally to 'run always', this will completely override any website settings that you may have made (or make in the future) to control how and when BOINC runs on your machine.
    * If you allow BOINC to run on battery power only, it will exhaust your battery quite quickly.
    * You may need to look at cooling efficiency since running BOINC generates a lot of heat.

Good luck with your crunching activities :-).

Cheers,
Gary.
