Have you actually crunched any OPNG tasks from WCG on your 1080 Ti?  I haven't seen any of that work in over a month.  Given up on that project.

I actually got a few before Christmas on one of my 10?? based gpu systems, they were very short and then gone again.

Not sure about open cov19 GPU

Not sure about open cov19 GPU tasks. Probably not much. I have two systems with gpu's setup to run WCG GPU tasks but nothing to indicate a steady flow.

I am clearly getting a lot of cancer analysis CPU tasks.

Took a look and you were right.  There was a brief spurt on Christmas Day.  Completely missed them so there couldn't have been many.

Keith, Tom, Ian, Mount Kidd,

Keith, Tom, Ian, Mount Kidd, et al,

1st... all Linux boxes... I had the thought to replace the RX 6600XT in my wife's computer with a RTX 3060ti I have laying about.  I don't have any stand alone 3060ti running so I started looking at the Meerkat output on a box that has a RTX 3070 in it vs the output from her RX 6600XT... and was shocked to see, at least with the last 9 BRP7 WUs: an avg run time on 6600XT ~1967 seconds per WU - AM4 Ryzen 5700G with monitor/desktop coming off the iGPU.

vs

an avg of last 7 that ran on a RTX 3070 box:  avg 2351.5 seconds per WU  (with higher CPU seconds also) - AM4 Ryzen 5900X with monitor/desktop off the 3070...

So a lot of variables I realize but both of these see very little actual desktop usage...

Do these average run times shock anyone else?

Thanx, Skip

PS:  A quick look at Asteroids project suggests the opposite with the 3070 having the shorter average WU times but now it's OpenCL vs Cuda.

Is that with running one task

Is that with running one task per GPU? if so I'd say there is something wrong with both hosts. either you are trying to run other GPU tasks from other projects at the same time, or you have something else hanging up the system. a 3070 should not take that long.

Skip,There is a windows

Skip,

There is a windows box in the top 50 running a pair of rtx 3070's.

And it is getting 1089s or less.

Something is screwed up.

How many CPU threads are uncommitted? Have you cleaned the GPU and PCIe slot lately? And as Ian&SteveC mentioned, how many GPU tasks are you running at once?

On the 5700g are you also crunching on the GPU inside the CPU? That causes serious system slowdowns on the discrete GPU as well as CPU crunching on Intel cpus. Might have same issues on Ryzen APU systems.

Sorry, These were all 3x just

Sorry, These were all 3x.   So per single WU 655 for the 6600xt and 784 for the 3070.

I just reset 'em to 2x.

No iGPU crunching, it's just the monitor so xorg & cinnamon for mint.

Skip, I'm with Ian on this

Skip, I'm with Ian on this one - something is fubar'd.  Looking back at my BRP7 data from a month ago, my 3060ti (win/cuda) was 1100sec for x2 and my 3070 (ub/opencl) was 1210sec for x2.  All with the standard E@H apps and nothing but BRP7 running on the hosts.

So even with a /3 that's still 605 vs 784 but the 3070 is in a 5900X box so 20+ CPU tasks running a mixed bag of other stuff.

I'll take another look at that 3070 box when I get back from dropping of the truck for some transmission recall thing.
