One of my rigs did a reboot (I think) sometime last evening. Boinc is not set to load at startup. When I checked the machine today, I had to start Boinc manually. The app starts, but it has lost its identity and all WU's are gone. The program reset itself. I get a message "Missing open tag in state file", and "State file has different major version (0.00); Resetting projects." It promply is assinged a new host ID and downloads 14meg of data while gleefully informing me I have been assigned the dreaded "quota 8" and no work from the server. Anyone else have this experience? Is my machine haunted? To top Things off, when I attempt to merge the new host ID with its previous incarnation, I am given a choice of 4 of my computers, none of which has the correct previous host ID. I am beginning to think that saving some money on my electric bill is not such a bad idea.

Very probably some file(s) went corrupt.

G Pascal; You are correct. This rig has been running flat out since I joined the project. Had it approaching 2.4ghz in the winter months. Had to throttle back now that Summer approaches. I am still a bit curious if the mobo may have some marginal components (shakey caps, perhaps?), or the proc is starting to "bit rot". Anyway, tweaking is still the most fun in computing. Build it yourself, and live on the edge! Kick as_ and crunch. Your response is appreciated.
