Test firing of Mars rocket

Test firing of Mars rocket (scroll down).

They must have really torqued those tie-down bolts to manufacturer's specs.

JCSAT-16 has successfully test fired on pad 40 and is listed for launch at 05:26 UTC on the 14th. Cool. Mid Sunday afternoon for me :-)

Over on the NSF thread

Over on the NSF thread someone has reported the usual FCC temporary transmission permission has been filed.  The specifics imply that they expect to catch the first stage from the JCSAT-16 launch near the same place as other recent GTO launch recoveries.

Most places in the continental USA this launch should be late evening August 13th to very early morning August 14th.
