Hi there,
I have some trouble with the CasA OpenCL WU's , i have 238 invalid ones and just 1 or 2 valid. Is it a problem with my PC or a problem of BOINC / Einstein?

[SOLVED] Problems with CasA(GWopenCL) - WU's (needed newer drive

Unfortunately, you can't show others your list of results from the 'view' link on your account page. That is a list that is accessible only to you. It gives an error message to us mere mortals who click on it :-).

What you need to do is view 'your computers' and use the 'details' or 'tasks' link for the relevant computer. That will provide a link like this that we are permitted to browse without access to sensitive information.

I've had a look through all the tasks in that list and can't find a single valid GWopencl-ati-Beta result for that host. There are 240 invalid and 0 valid. There are 30 valid results of the type SSE2-Beta but those are CPU tasks not GPU tasks. Your GPU tasks all seem to have completed successfully but are then not agreeing with duplicate tasks completed by your quorum partners. I don't know what is causing the problem but I'm fairly sure it must be something to do with your setup. I notice you have HT enabled. If you could disable that temporarily, it would be interesting to see if that made a difference.

Normally, I would tend to suspect the driver but your other OpenCL GPU apps seem to be working correctly. The other thing to try is using preferences to reduce the number of cores BOINC is allowed to use. You could try 75% which would allow BOINC to use 3 out of 4 or 6 out of 8. I'm running the Beta test app on a couple of HD7850s and have yet to see a single validation failure so I don't think the app has a validation problem. I make sure there is one free CPU core for each concurrent GPU task.

Cheers,
Gary.

I'm sure that there was one

I'm sure that there was one valid GPU WU, but now i cant find it too...
Ok, i have disabled the HT now and crunch some WU's, i will give you a report (with the right link ;).
I always use just 50 or 67% of CPU-Cores, for now without HT i will try 50%.

I can see already that you

I can see already that you have lots of new 'validation inconclusive' results, indicating that nothing has changed. Seems to rule out the possibility of an overloaded system.

As originally stated here the beta test app is for "Windows (32 Bit) and Linux (64 Bit) only" but I would have expected a 32 Bit app to run on 64 Bit Windows without problem. The app is running OK but seems to be producing incorrect answers. Not insanely incorrect, else the validator would have rejected them as 'validate errors' without actually needing to do a comparison with another result.

I have no clue as to why (and I know nothing about Windows) but could it be that some extra 'compatibility' libs (of some sort - eg OpenCL) might be needed? It's just a rough guess - I'd really expect tasks to fail if the libs weren't correct.

I guess it might be worthwhile trying different drivers.

Cheers,
Gary.

Shame on me, i had a very old

Shame on me, i had a very old GPU Driver (Sep. 2013), today in the morning i installed the latest one, and it seems to work: http://einsteinathome.org/host/9343964/tasks&offset=0&show_names=1&state=3&appid=24
Thanks Gary =)
