I'm not particularly encouraged, as two people have flamed out on it already. I just wonder what that P4 2.8 is going to do compared to my poor little Opty 170 (2.0 gHz, except when it's cool enough in the room, where I can OC to 2.21 gHz)
Easy now, folks! I was just kidding. Not trying to start an Intel vs AMD war ;^)
I had a 658 credit WU which validated allright. Where is the record right now? :-D Fyi it took 237k seconds on my Core Duo. Looks like I have at least one more of about the same size running atm.

I've been crunching 666.* credit WUs for the last ~7 weeks.
Very true :-D so that would probably take it a bit too far. And we have to keep in mind all those poor little vintage boxes struggling to meet the deadlines. But a 700 cred WU for my dual core would still be nice... just for sport...

I think ca 667 was the maximum I saw until now, and that should also be near the maximum for the run. Sorry, no 700 credits monster :-).
As Bernd has stated, S5R3 will have smaller workunits again, and hopefully optimization later on. So the credit dinosaurs are doomed to get extinct, crunch them while they are still around ;-)
Yeah, I read Bernd's statement about that. From the practical point of view it's probably a good thing (I might reattach one or two of the slower boxes). But I still like the competition for record monster WUs ;-) so I'll, as you say, enjoy it while it lasts. Apparently my box is crunching two of them again but based on what my wingmen claimed they're "only" 658 credits aswell.

BTW, the "my WU has more credits than yours" thread is here, the most recent entry cited 666.25 credits. Who's got more?
I have a big one pending, too

Okay, then I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for them getting larger... ;-)

If we follow this trend, we have infinite scores for WUs that never complete :)

I've got a 640.5 on my li'l

I've got a 640.5 on my li'l ole Celeron 400 - looks good to finish within deadline, but with less than 4 days to spare.
Looks like SETI is going to be deprived of its 50% for quite a bit of the next two weeks.
