I was very unimpressed with you guys and the bloody server downtime last weekend,
6 units of work or more and by the time your server was back in the land of the living again, they time limit had expired....... so what the hell is the point of us giving our computer time???????????

Sorry for the inconveniences, but as you can see from the Home Page news, the deadline for unfinished work was extended, so acutally no result that was affected by the downtime has timed-out by now. The deadline shift was something that had to be done directly in the database and will not immediately show up on the client-side however, so it's possible that the deadline displayed in BOINC-manager can be misleading.

Deep breaths fellow Mike, in addition to what Bikeman said Boinc credits work in a kinda special way...if you have a workunit you are working on and miss the deadline, the unit WILL be re-issued by the project. BUT just because the unit is re-issued doesn't mean YOU, as the original unit getter, can't still get credit for it. All you have to do is return that unit BEFORE the new person and you get the credits and then they do too. Now if you return if AFTER them, then you have no hope of getting any credits for crunching it. So all is not lost, even if they had not extended the deadlines most of us would have gotten our credits anyway. Extending the time limit has eased the load on their database, making it easier for us to get more new units!!
