I just heard on the radio, that there was a massive power outage in Hanover, where the servers are located. A main switching station seems to have failed and blacked the whole town out. Let's hope, that the UPS-systems were OK and it will start up fine once the staff is @work again.
One of my hosts requested work at 10:03:56 MDT (therefore 9:03 p.m. PDT) and got it promptly, and uploaded work at 10:04:38 which completed in four seconds.
It looks like there's been a power outage in the late evening hours of July 13 in Hannover where the the upload/download servers for the radio pulsar search in E@H are located.
The servers are part of a large computer cluster at the AEI Hannover, which is backed up by a UPS. Unfortunately, the power outage lasted longer than the UPS could do, so I assume the cluster was shut down and with it the upload/download servers, but I don't know exactly what happened. Our admins will work on bringing the system up again.
The servers for GW work are located in Milwaukee, which is why you shouldn't see any problems with GW work.
Benjamin, thanks much for the speedy and detailed reply.
