Hi,
hi just started using the BOINC manager and recognized the following: When after some minutes of inactivity the screensaver from BOINC is starting, the computing task of BOINC stops working because of high CPU load from the screensaver itself. Okay - I've old hardware with single core 1,1GHz and a WinXP OS but in pricinple this looks contra-productive if the screensaver reduces the effectiveness of distributed computing. My workaround: Disable screensaver, enable monitor shutdown after some minutes.

Or go into your computing preferences, edit those and set "Suspend work if CPU usage is above" to 0 (zero). Save the changes, re-enable the screen saver and it won't do that again.
If though it continues to do so, you may be using local preferences. In that case, either adjust that setting in the local prefs (BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Tools->Computing preferences->Processor usage->While your processor usage is less than..."
