Hi there,
since the weekend I have a problem with the Einstein screensaver. After some time it crashes, starts another instance - without killing the crashed one - and continues its work.
This might be good for you - as it still does its job but when I need my notebook for my self, I cannot access anything because the frozen screensaver remains on top of the screen and I cannot see what I am doing. The only thing that works is a hard reset and even Windows, which is not as sensitive as Linux in this case will get a corrupted swap-file, registry, etc. after some time.
For now I have stopped Einstein on my notebook. I would post some system details here, but as a friend of mine experiences the same problems with completely different hardware, I do not think that this happens because of my system. The only things that the two computers have in common is Windows XP (32bit) with automatic updates on, Avast anti-virus and BOINC, of course.
I will leave Einstein turned off for some weeks, then test it again. If it works: okay, if not, wait another few weeks and if still won't run stable, delete it.
So long,
Markus

Screensaver crashes
)
That might be your problem: Windows updates. When it downloads a new driver for your videocard automatically and installs it, it can crash everything.
I also see you're using Boinc 5.2.13
You may want to try 5.4.9 as it will send a signal to your firewall software the moment the screen saver starts. It's not perfect yet, but it crashes on a lot less systems than 5.2.13 does.
