New to Einstein. On a previous BOINC project (departed it when a TV station “took over” the project), people said the screensaver took a lot of CPU and thus limited the processing of project (i.e. slowed down getting the results).
Is this also true of the Einstein screen saver or can it be left running with out swallowing loads of CPU from the processing ?

I would say *THEY* did a great job promoting *IT*, BOINC and distributed computing in general. Besides *THEY* are no private TV station. And *THAT* experiment will soon be available through the *USUAL* project.
OK, if we are not talking about CPDN/BBC CCE, forget what I said.
Although the screensaver uses OpenGL, meaning that the graphics card is doing the work, some CPU cycles are still used. So if you don't want to waste any CPU cycles set your screen saver to blank screen.

The coupled model is now available from the normal CPDN project. It will randomly assign a sulfur or coupled model when you get a new model.
I would also have to say that having the BBC involved in that project was a good thing, even though it did cause some annoyances.
