Sounds more like a problem with your videocard. What kind of videocard (or onboard videochip) is it and have you updated to the latest available drivers (with OpenGL)? Have you tried updating your DirectX version?
I just set up my computer with the newest drivers I found, including directX 9. the problem is that I saw the stars and the purple dots once and now I can't see them any more.
What is the make and model of this videochip?
You can find this information by going:
-Start -> Run
-Type in dxdiag and hit Enter
-In dxdiag window goto the Display tab.
-Type over what it says under Device.
--The only things I need are the Name and Manfuacturer, please.
It doesn't say which Mirage you have?
Which DirectX version are you using? You can find this same info in dxdiag.
I ask as I am wondering if your Mirage version can do OpenGL 1.2 graphics.
The graphics used in the Einstein screen saver are OpenGL 1.2 compliant. If your videochip cannot do this, then there's your problem.
I have DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904). It doesn't say which Mirage it is. But I think it can do OpenGL graphics because I have "Stary Night Backyard 4.0.5" and "Deep Space Explorer" on my conputer, which also use OpenGL (I don't know which version though).
