ive been running boinc since 2004 both seti and einstein with no problems, ive just bought a new computor downloaded everything again but it wont run properly ive downloaded boinc 3 times now but still the same, i cant connect to seti and the screen saver wont work it comes up with a black screen with the boinc sign saying either boinc is idle or suspended how do i change this to make it work ive been through al the settings and cant change it can any body help

If you're running BOINC as a service, then the graphics are disabled.
If not, then it's possible you need a graphics driver and/or DirectX update.
Also, quite a few people are having some problems connecting to SAH lately, especially on new installations. So posting over there may get you better answers on this issue.

Mind telling which BOINC version you run, for which computer/Operating System? (PC, MAC, Linux, Windows)
What kind of video card do you use?
Do you see the BOINC screen saver only?

Do you have your preferences set not to run while the computer’s in use? That makes it hard to monitor or troubleshoot BOINC, because every time you move the mouse it will suspend itself for the next three minutes (or whatever timing you chose). Try setting it to “Run always� from the Activity menu; when you’re done testing you can switch it back to “Run based on preferences�.
Resetting a project is intended only as a last resort: among other effects, it dumps all the work you may have downloaded, losing any processing time you may have invested to that point.
