Scheduler Logs missing newline on Win7

This appears to be a problem of Internet Explorer, apparently not correctly displaying "text/plain" MIME type.

I really don't know what to do about that. Try a different browser.

Hi BM,
There was a similar issue reported and fixed (by you) 16 Oct 2014. Could something have regressed?

Got the same problem with IE

Got the same problem with IE 11 on both Win 7 and Win 10 OS machines. This issue is also apparent whilst using Microsoft's Edge browser in Windows 10.

The scheduler logs as viewed from the user end appear in exactly the same format displayed by Richard Haselgrove in the thread Mountkidd linked to previously.

Using other browsers is not a feasible option for some of us and you did manage to fix it back then... BM, I you could find the time to take a second look. I for one would be very grateful :-)

Gavin.

Has anyone tried IE

Has anyone tried IE Compatibility view ?

Edit: ok i confess, i do have a Win10 machine which i keep locked up in a VirtualBox, which i have just had to wake up.

IE-11 compatibility mode - document mode 8 - seems to wrap the lines properly.

We think we found the

We think we found the problem. Newer IE version guess the type of content when it is not transmitted by the server. In the case of the scheduler logs this should be text/plain but IE identifies it as text/html. The compatibility view should help as the default there is to interpret unknown types as text/plain.

We will implement a configuration change on the server that is sending the correct type with th scheduler log but we first have to make sure there are no unwanted sideeffects with other BOINC components. Also there is currently a Gravitational Wave Conference in Hannover where people are, so please be patient.

I configured the webserver to

I configured the webserver to send the correct Content-Type header information (text/plain) for the scheduler logs. Looking at the response I see the header and it now should work correctly on Windows. Please test and report back.
