I am new at fedora. I have downloaded the boinc file, & have extracted it, however I am unable to run the executable. I do not know what app. I should use. I am using fedora core 3.
1. make a directory called boinc or anything else you want to name it.
>mkdir boinc
2. move the boinc_4.19_i686.... file to the boinc directory
>mv boinc_4.19_i686.... boinc
3. go to boinc directory
>cd boinc
4. make file executable
>chmod +x boinc_4.19_i686....
5. run the program
>./boinc_4.19_i686....
Hint: if you start to type the name of a file and hit tab, linux will fill in the rest if its unique.
The 4.19 version does not have a GUI but there is a developmental version on the download page that does have a GUI. Careful it may still have some bugs in it.
