I have latest version of 5. I find that when I am on line E monopolizes free space and slows down my laptop some. When I finish online I 'disconnect' and close down the internet panel of the ISP (it is stored in the 'tray'). Or so I thought. Seems E gets modem connected again, and all incoming calls are blocked, this is happening regularly. Didn't have this issue with v4.25. My response now is to turn off my laptop totally. Today I suspended three jobs and asked for no new tasks, til I get this problem sorted out. Under 'activity' I have set it to 'run by preferences'. Today I reset preferences in several areas:Processor Usage; changed 'do work while pc in use to 'no', changed 'use at most 100% CPU' to '30% CPU', and under network changed 'confirm before connect to the net' to 'yes'. I had not set my preferences after downloading version 5 and so must I accept being irresponsible about this. I am soliciting feedback as my changes are not be from an informed level. Thanks.

The CPU percentage use isn't in use yet by the 5.4.x branch of BOINC. The upcoming 5.6.x branch will use it, so for now the CPU will be used for 100%, regarding what you fill in there.
As to the other options you set, did you update BOINC after saving the preferences to the site? (Open Boinc Manager, Projects tab, select Einstein, press Update with a connection on)
