Restart problems wasting time

Einstein and Rosetta are plagued with re-start problems. Please see below. Of course, I can follow the directions and reset but then I lose lots of compute time. What can be done to avoid the problem in the first place?

The S5R5 task in your Tasks-for-computer list that did error out shows the "Can't acquire lockfile" message. You could do an Advanced search (over 3 or 6 months) for "acquire lockfile" to see threads covering that topic, using the link at the upper left corner of this page.
Sometimes it can be caused by using the BOINC CPU throttle mechanism, sometimes it's AV software locking the files, but I'm not sure if always a reason could be found.
The "exited with zero status but no 'finished' file" messages are only a side effect and resetting the project wouldn't help a bit.

Thanks to all for your help. So far as I know, I was not running AV software at the times of closed-no finish file or computational error results. I do have my CUDA software set to run only when the keyboard was not in use. I only use the quad 4 multiprocessor about 49 percent of the time, as set in the preferences. It's possible that running Kaspersky full scan could have had an effect, perhaps.
Before, not recently, I was getting "thread stuck in Video Card" crashes and messages.

CPU throttling via BOINC might be the problem, see Gundolf's post. Another way to limit CPU usage would be to reduce the number of processors used to 3 or so (via preferences). But why?
