I've got no Einstein WUs downloaded so this should be okay, I just wanted to check.
I managed to change the resource share on the website but as the client can't connect to the database I was wondering if it would be safe for me to stop Boinc and edit the resource share in the client_state.xml file without repercussions further down the line.
I want to do this so the percentages are correct for the other projects I crunch.

Resource share alteration question

Save yourself from potential grief and just update the project in BOINC Manager. Most updates are succeeding now. If not, wait a minute or two and try the update again.

FYI, you can change the resource share locally in client_state, however the catch is when the BOINC contacts the project again it will return it to whatever you had set it to there (or whichever project was last updated in multiple project scenarios).
You can override that behaviour locally in later versions by setting up the global_pref config file.

Um no, not the global_prefs.xml file and the global_prefs_override.xml file as they only contain the General Preferences, not the Project Preferences.
So if you want to override those locally, you'd best edit the account_*.xml file.
The account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml file contains the tag.
OOPS, I stand corrected.

Even this may not work as described. Prior to 5.6.x it will still download the share from the web the next time it connects. I also think you have to add another tag to get this to work in later versions.

LOL, I seem to recall this should be theoretically possible, but haven't tried to myself.
Guess I'll add that to my list of BOINC things to do. ;-)
