I added a new computer last night. So far it's processed and reported 12 tasks but it seems as though all its tasks are still pending. No errors or invalid but nothing is "waiting validation" or valid.

Here's the job_log_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.txt

Any ideas where they are going? Is there a problem with my setup?

Reported tasks, not showing up

One more detail. I have rebooted the system a couple of times as I try to get ubuntu to behave so my message screen is not complete but here's some upload data in more readable form.

The issue seems to be that they have not been reported yet. They have only been uploaded; reporting is a different process.

The machine in question (3805542) had the last server contact on 5 Jan 2011 17:57:21 UTC, so you probably have to initiate a server contact to report the tasks (click update in the Projects tab).

Thank you that does seem to have been the problem. I thought that when status went from "ready to report" to not showing and the messages said "uploaded" it was reported.

If I may, one more question:
From the website, computer -> details -> "Last time contacted server"
What does the "error rate" and "don't trust" mean?

2011-01-05 17:57:21.5270 [PID=31115] [send] [HOST#3805542] is reliable
2011-01-05 17:57:21.5270 [PID=31115] [send] set_trust: error rate 0.100000 > 0.050000, don't trust

This is my first home-built system, and the BIOS has pages and pages of settings I never heard of let alone understand, but I'm getting there. I ran the mprime test overnight without error and am now running the Ubuntu memory test for a few more hours. Using E@H as my first torture test may not have been the best decision but I seem to a some previously unknown psychological need for worthless credits.

This could be a side effect of the new "Show all tasks" / "Show active tasks" toggle in BOINC Manager. If you have it set to display active tasks only, tasks which have finished and have status 'Ready to report' are hidden from view.

For starters, try Adaptive replication in the BOINC trac wiki. I used the keywords "reliable error rate" (without quotes) to find that article.

Hmmm,
The button says show active tasks and I do see the "Ready to start" tasks.

Part of the problem is I'm doing battle with vncserver and some things crash (glibc reports corrupted memory) for many tasks run remotely, like update. I'm working on it. This could very well be me.

Thank you. I'm beginning to understand.
