I missed the report-deadlinie for a wu by half an hour - and got no credits. Is this normal / fair for users with slow machines - no "tolerance-corridor"?

They actually give you a "tolerance-corridor". The real limit is 6 days with a 1 day guaranteed extra allowance for those who don't quite get the resource share worked out correctly :) ;) :).
Seriously, you can hardly describe your machines as "slow" when they can each do a WU in 14 - 16 hours. A slow machine takes 50 - 60 hours!! Just give them a tiny little bit more share and they'll be very happy and productive :).
Cheers,
Gary.

You should rethink your definition of slow :^)

If you are lucky and there are only 2 results so far, then you can upload the results far beyond the deadline.

Nahhh... That's not slow, that's glacial!! - that's actually going backwards!!!
Yes, we all know about your 814,000 second wonder that currently holds the record for the slowest WU to be validated. We're all digging out our 386SX's to try to beat you (NOT) :).
You're just dead lucky that the one that started on March 21 didn't finish until March 26 and took 116,000 seconds. Just a tad on the slow side :).
Cheers,
Gary.

Deadlines are deadlines for a reason... there has to be some point at which there is a cutoff. If for some reasona 7 day deadline was set with a 1 day grace period, then someone that misses that grace period cutoff by 30 minutes will say the same thing. I've turned in a workunit 4 hours or so late when I was still working out the resource share but still gotten credit. After the deadline it's basically the luck of the draw of whether or not you get it in before the third person does (unless of course there's already a third result in which case you don't have a chance).

Hi
I dont like the short deadline as well, because my brother has only inet connection once a week.
Its nearly impossible to reach the time correct for him so the most results will get no credit.

That is one of the drawbacks of a short deadline - it cuts off some users (both intermittently connected and slow). Might I suggest that you investigate some of the projects with longer deadlines?
