Removing .xml after disconecting from a project.

When I disconect projects in BOINC there are stil three .xml files left.
Why are they not removed?
Can I remove them myself?
Are there anything else that are not removed?
The filenames start with the following:
master_ ...
sched_reply_ ...
sched_request_ ...

Because BOINC doesn't yet clean up after itself.

It's possible that there are things left behind in the \\projects\\project_name folders. Climate Prediction for instance can leave many hundreds of MBs of data behind.
