I find myself in need of replacing two UPS batteries. Can anyone make recommendations as to the brands to use/stay away from. I could order from the UPS vendor but they are a bit pricey - I know you get what you pay for. I was looking at "BatteriesPlus" that has a local retail outlet near me but I do not know anything about the quality of the batteries they sell.
Thoughts/suggestons.

recommendations for UPS battery replacements
)
robl,
If you are looking at Batteries Plus, consider the Werker brand of batteries. I've had good luck with them.
Ham operators use a lot of sealed AGM batteries in the 7 Ah range for emergency and remote operations. This should be comparable in size to what a UPS uses.
Hope this helps.

Edit: If you are looking for some serious backup power, I once had four 31M deep cycle batteries in parallel using 2 in. wide 3/8 in. thick copper bar. 32,000 instantaneous amps if you dropped a wrench in the box. This may be slightly overkill for your project...
I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

I've had good luck ordering replacement batteries from Arizona Battery. My current fleet of UPS units are all Cyberpower, and the Arizona site made my selection options very clear, and I think their prices and other provisions were reasonable.

I was in a hurry so I gave Batteries Plus a go. I now have the new battery(s) in place and charging.
Wow!!! Was there a mother-in-law involved? :>)
Thanks everyone.
