Trying to run einstein@home on a Raspberry Pi Zero. A work unit downloaded, but the acitve_task_state is UNINITIALIZED and results in a computer error.
The Pi Zero has the latest Raspbian operating system.
Is the Pi Zero compatible with einstein@home?

The project always seems to send the old 1.06 application which is never compatible with the Pi's.
Solution is to allow beta applications so the project sends the new beta 1.47 Neon application.

Thank you for your suggestion. I enabled the Beta setting in Preferences, then Updated, but that made no difference. No work unit is downloaded.

Go to your hosts list on the website and click on the last contact link for that particular host. It tells you exactly why you are not getting any work. You have exceeded your daily quota with all the failed tasks. You will have to wait for the start of a new period (usually midnight UTC) for a new quota to be allowed. You will probably start with a limit of one task per day. That will double with each successfully returned task that you then report, until you reach the full quota.
You can quickly get back to full quota by manually reporting the first task as soon as it's uploaded. You should get 2 replacements. Keep reporting each completed task until you have full quota. I don't know if a Pi zero will actually work at Einstein. I guess you're about to find out :-).
Cheers,
Gary.

A new attempt was made to download work units 24 hours after the previous failure, but all reported error while computing. So, the answer to my question seems to be , "No, the Raspberry Pi Zero can't run einstein@home."

The Pi Zero uses an ARMv6. To run Einstein you’ll need an ARMv7 or later. That is a Pi2 or later.
The 1.06 app broke about 2.5 years ago when Raspbian stretch came out. It should really be removed. The 1.47 app still works though, provided you have a Pi2 or later.

Thanks for your explanation.

Thanks for your explanation. I have to admit, I wondered why einstein@home makes the 1.06 app available if it doesn't work. Too bad this can't be fixed so the Pi Zero could contribute to the project.
