As I need to move on to other projects, I must cease using Einstein on one of my machines. But neither the "detach" link, nor BAM! will allow me to remove it from my list of tasks, even though it has no pending work units. Suggestions, please?

I'm not sure which of your machines you are referring to but you do have two which have completed the work assigned to them and do not have new tasks. I imagine you have set NNT (No New Tasks) on both those machines. Your tasks lists in BOINC Manager should show no tasks for both of those so you should have no trouble getting work for whatever other project(s) you wish. In about a week's time, all the completed results will expire on the website and there will be nothing visible there. When that happens you should be able to detach completely as the online database will no longer have records that need your particular hostID to be still present. This delay in removing your hostID in no way affects your ability to support other projects.

Thanks very much for your contribution here. All the best for the future and we hope to see your host(s) back again some time.

EDIT: There is actually no need to detach at all in order to support other projects, unless you really want to. Not detaching has the advantage of retaining your current hostID and crunching record which would be nice to keep in case you wish to work for this project again at some stage in the future.

Cheers,
Gary.
