I am running both seti@home(boinc) and einstein on my two computers. The cpu time shown by seti appears to be accurate. The Cpu time shown by einstein is all skewed. For example, this morning, a work unit from einstein ran from 2:36am to 3:36am, then 4:36am to 5:36am, then 6:36am to 7:36am, then 8:36am to 9:36am. That should be four hours of cpu time, the einstein work unit shows only 56 minutes of cpu time and the percentage completed reflects only 56 minutes of cpu time (percentage of work done is very low). What is up with this? does einstein use some different (weird) form of computing cpu time or what?

I forgot, the seti work unit shows four hours of cpu time from 1:36am to 2:36am, 3:36am to 4:36am, 5:36am to 6:36am, and 7:36am to 8:36am and the seti work unit reflects the 4 hour cpu time. This is occuring on two different computers.

Einstein tracks the CPU usage using standard BOINC library calls -- exactly the same way SETI does it. But note that the CPU usage is FOR THE SCIENCE CODE ONLY, not for the screensaver. Try disabling the screensaver and see if Einstein gets significantly more CPU time per unit of wallclock time. If so, the problem is that your CPU is being sucked up by the screensaver graphics.
