Today I wanted to use Boincview, because with CC 4.63 I can't "show graphics" (only with EAH-WU), and with CC 4.19 I can watch the EAH-Graphic, but I can't "suspend" projects.
The installation sounds easy, but I don't know where to put: "-allow_remote_gui_rpc". It is written: " You only need to setup the client to start with this parameter" on the command line.
When I enter:
boincmgr.exe -allow_remote_gui_rpc [ENTER]
produces the message that only the following parameters are allowed: /h , --verbose , /s , /help
The CC gives a message that "a non-allowed address requests a GUI RPC".
Really I don't know where to put this parameter: "-allow_remote_gui_rpc".
If somebody can explain it to me.
(german desired, sorry; because I even not sure if I posted it right)

If you run the client with the -allow_remote_gui_rpc command line option

As far as I know (correct me

As far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong) Boinc 4.6x does not work any more with the "-allow_remote_gui_rpc" option.
Just put the "remote_hosts.cfg" file (with the IP addresses of the hosts that are allowed to contact Boinc) in your Boinc directory and restart Boinc. Then Boincview should be able to connect. :-)
Edit: probably you know, but the communications port changed in Boinc 4.5x/4.6x. It is now 1043 (was 31416).

A.:No only in the BOINC-Folder.
Thank you Ken, after I copied that File in the BOINCVIEW-Folder, it worked. I though it must be something "little"; sometimes such things can screw....
also THX to ric
and S@NL - EJG, before there were some error-messages with this #'s.
But now it works.
So I can downgrade to 4.19 and manage it with the new BoincView; that only to be capable to watch the graphic sometimes with the big screen; not only on the Notebook-screen (only EAH-WU-Graphics and formerly PIR-Graphics have this behaviour).

Strange, I never put the remote_hosts.cfg file in my Boincview folder (only in the Boinc folder) and that always works.

I puted the name and the IP of each computer in the remote_hosts.cfg file . Before I did only the names, maybe it was that? :-(

Possibly. I only put the IP

Possibly. I only put the IP address(es) in the file, one per line. :-)
Which port# has CC 4.19? I
)
Which port# has CC 4.19?
I triied to connect with Boincview 0.92d (as described on the website)
With this combination I get "there is no client behind this port 31416 or 1043".
The comb. CC 4.63 and boincview_beta_rc works, but this is useless for me. I can manage the projects with the CC 4.63 , but not "show the graphic".

port 31416.
Are you talking about two different PC's, or one PC where you test two different versions of Boinc?
