My application preferences for Work allow FGRP CPU tasks, and BRP4 GPU tasks, but the only client set for this preference is ignoring that setting and keeps downloading FGRP Gamma Ray Pulsar GPU tasks. I checked, and they are the GPU task, and not the CPU one that looks like it.
I updated the computing preferences with the "use web prefs" button and also updated the project and it keeps downloading more of the tasks I do not want on this machine. I've never had this problem controlling app types by machine like this before.

Do you have the option
)
Do you have the option enabled to "run test applications" in the Beta settings section of project preferences? I don't know the full details, but in general that takes precedence over specific application preferences leading to plenty of downloads unexpected by the user and discussed on these forums.
If that is not the answer I suggest you check that the current location (aka venue) for the host in question is that for which you are adjusting preferences.
So just to triple-check they
)
So just to triple-check they are not FGRPSSE tasks? Which host is it? How is the option "Run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available" set at the Project Preferences page? I don't know if that has an effect on those CPU/GPU FGRPB1G tasks, but there's one knob to try.
I was afraid that is the
)
I was afraid that is the issue. I'll give it a shot. But this isn't happening with the other machines, so I'm not sure.
Yup. I saw the ones that say
)
Yup. I saw the ones that say "Gamma Ray GPU" and then list SSE, but these say opencl and NVIDIA. I'm trying to screen out the Gamma Ray NVIDIA tasks on this particular machine.
I also unchecked the "Run GPU versions" preference.
So far it is not responding
)
So far it is not responding to anything we discussed. I even switched it over to another grouping (from work to home) which was working for all of the other machines. Still ignoring it. I wonder if I need to reset the project and delete the local preferences file or something.
As of now your project
)
As of now your project preferences for "home", "school" and venue-less hosts allow test applications and will get the FGRPB1G (GPU) work. Only the "work" venue has test application disabled and will not get FGRPB1G tasks.
Since you switched venues recently it's hard to say which host should not have gotten FGRPB1G work. A good plan is to reset the project on the host just to clear out any issues with preference handling.
