I am have ONE computer, but early I have MS Wndows XP SP3 BOINC 6.6.36 (Computer ID - 1757975, GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10]) and now I have MS Windows x64 SP2 BOINC 6.10.18 (Computer ID - 2134817, GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00GHz [EM64T Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10]) on this.

I think it's impossible if you changed from 32bit to 64bit OS.
The same would apply if you changed from windows to linux or made other major changes of the operating system.
