It wants to know if AVG should handle the threat and do it the best way, or ALLOW the threat to continue without removing it...(free version) - I have the screen cornered, waiting for a reply.
So, it's two things: PROTECT - they choose method
or AllOW - they will allow an
exception and will not
remove the threat.
Threat is medium, something about Identity protection, and rebooting required.
Is this common with Einstein users?
Thanks, old fadedrose

That's the name of the file they are questioning. I think they'll let it go if I get an okay from you guys. I'd hate to lose all my points.

If you have some cloud storage copy that file into that account and pm me a link; I can check it on my AVG secured pc.
What link do you mean? AVG
)
What link do you mean? AVG has a link, but it takes forever to download...and nothing on the black screen can be copied...unless I do it by hand and it's quite long
Also, what is cloud storage, and which account do I paste what link in?
You can paste the download
)
You can paste the download url (which you can find in your client_state.xml file) into https://www.virustotal.com/en/#url, and let Virus Total do the downloading and give you a comprehensive report at the end.

I am very new to this - where is my client_state.xml fiel? It's not in the refrigerator, I checked. If's in My ACCOUNT, does it go by another name?

Thanks.
On Windows XP the data

On Windows XP the data directory where all the BOINC writable files are, is at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\
This is a hidden directory, so either fill in the path directly in Windows Explorer and hit Enter, or tell it to show hidden files and folders.
I copied my checked file into

I copied my checked file into my dropbox.
Link comes per pm.
You can copy it into your project folder and compare it against your file.
I could not find the right

I could not find the right file in WE..
BUT, on the desktop, my icon for Boinc has an application file called
boinc_7.0.28_windows_intel_86 and I KNOW it works as an appliction because that's what I used to install Einstein (about 15 times if I recall)...
The icon right-clicked opens a window that shows a box that says "hidden."
What should I do with it?
Sweetie, I don't know where
)
Sweetie, I don't know where your "drop box" is, and in fact, this is the first I've heard of it, or anyone's.
Also, I don't even have a project folder.
I hope this is "kid" friendly like the instuctions request... ;)
