I have a real problem to set preferences for this project!
I'm running it on Pentium M 1.7GHz notebook.
I have this box in "work" venue/group.
I set Connect to network about every to 1 day for work.
I set 35% resource share for this project (beside another 2 project), I wrote it in %, real value are differnet but these % are seen in 4.19 boinc client.
But it downloads 6 WU's which take 6*9.5 hours = 57 hours and in case of 35% of resources it will not finish in 7 days deadline. Not 1 day as I set in preferences but even not in 7 days deadline.
I really don't like this feature, I read about some new setting here on Einstein which have to eliminate such a problems but it seems like it doesn't work at all.
On other box, 5 projects are running on it and it hase similar setting but in home venue it works perfektly. Because it is A64 3200+??? Only one difference.
Any idea?

Preferences setting problem!

The client ignores the other projects when requesting work. It also tries to fill to double your connect setting (rounded up).

The most likely reason for your computer at home seeming to work correctly is that it has had a longer time to adjust the time stats.

But that's wrong! Aaaaargh!!! At home A64 3200+ I have 1 E@H WU in queue and at work notebook Pentium M 1.7 I have already 7 WU's in queue. Bot should connect every day. Sure that A64 is faster, 1 WU in 5:45 then Pentium M, 1 WU in 9:20. I will have to discard WU's on notebook, and that's only one thing what I don't like.

You are not the first to find

You are not the first to find the problem with the requests for work. There is a task list item to fix it.

In issuing work, the scheduler takes into account the 'active fraction' and 'on fraction' of the machine. Is the home machine turned off much of the time, or not available for BOINC much of the time?

Home computer is running 10-12 hours per day, this time is connected to internet througth cable modem, 5 projects on it and I can see massage from Eistein scheduler that it will not provide more work for it because it would not be able to complete it. Now is there 1 E@H WU. Everything seems ok. Host ID = 5645.
On Work computer (near to 24/7 running time, around 12 hours connected to internet) was E@H only one projects for 2 weeks till 14 Feb 2005 19:51:13 UTC when I joined Predictor and a LHC on this monday. On monday, it finished last E@H WU in its queue and at that time all resource sharing were already set. After that scheduler provided a few new WU and after a while another few. Even when this host had 30% or something like that for WU and 1 day connection time to network. Host ID = 9719.
Hope it will help you.

It looks like this machine trashed 8 WU in a row, with client version 4.22. So I think it's running up against the daily quota for not getting more work.

It would help me if you could please cut-and-paste or trascribe the complete message that you get about not being able to complete work. I'd like to make sure that the message is reaching your BOINC client OK. Also, please tell me the current BOINC client version.

It looks like this machine is getting plenty of WU. Do you agree?
