I set up a new page with Einstein@Home Apps (and some BOINC Core Clients, too).

The "Beta Test Apps", are full-featuresd Apps that are more or less meant as release candidates for official, automatically downloaded Apps. In contrast to them the Apps on this page are lacking one or another feature (graphics, compatibility), e.g. run only on a specific CPU or OS version, and will sometimes simply crash on other configurations.

Thus, to successfully install and run them a certain amount of knowlege of your system configuration and of BOINC is required, hence the name "Power User's Apps".

These Apps are mostly made for fun, but I also intend to put some Apps there that are only beneficial for certain CPU types, where maintaining compatibility is too much of a hazzle or eats up too much speed, or where I quickly want to test features that may be incorporated in official Apps in the future.

I'll keep the tradition of creating a thread in this forum for discussion on each of the Apps.

Note that support for these Apps usually has a lower priority than for the "official" or "Bete Test" Apps.

Happy crunching!

Akos's work is in EVERY executable that we are now distributing. We have incorporated his low-level optimizations into our standard applications.
