You should open Port 80.
The info about the other port to open is hidden somewhere deep, in fact very very deep within this message board and should be
boinc-client 1043/tcp BOINC Client Control
boinc-client 1043/udp BOINC Client Control

In simpler terms, if your router and any local firewall is set up to browse the web, you will be able to run BOINC ok without any extras and even if you don't understand what these posts are talking about.
To control one box's BOINC from another box you *will* need to understand those posts, but I guess if you are ready to d that sort of thing you probably *do* understand those posts.

That depends on which. If you mean that to get out you need to use a proxy, then yes, it is possible. In the UI, Tools - Options. Depending on the version there will be one or two proxy pages. However, the server needs to get the information on port 80, so you need to have a proxy set up someplace to do the translation from the port you select to port 80.
If you mean for the remote host UI, then no, not at the moment.
