Hi, I just joined this great project but I'm sorry to tell that I have a little problem.
I've configured BOINC to run only during screensaver activity and everything works perfect.
The problem is that when I start using my PC the screensaver quits, as expected, and BOINC stops as I asked for.
But after that my graphic card works slowly... there is not activity on my PC (CPU=0%) but my screen refreshes slowly than before the screensaver started.
My Toshiba laptop has an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400.
I just learned that to fix the problem I have to start "CATALYST control application" (the program that I got from ATI), press the "use defaults" button and press Apply. After that all the slowiness is gone.
Any hint?

Yes, set the screensaver to just blank the screen, you will crunch faster and the problems could be gone too. Also there is another thread http://einsteinathome.org/node/194221 where the person is asking a similar question. One of the answers was that the newer 6.? versions of Boinc may fix this.
