    just saw this on the BBC's Oz pages:)

    Microwave signals at Parkes....

    PhD student Emily Petroff made the discovery at the Parkes telescope, after noticing that the signals were only received during business hours.

    The rays, known as "perytons", were emitted when impatient staff opened the microwave door prematurely.

    Wonder if they get passed along to the WU we get?

      That was also covered by the UK's 'New Scientist' magazine: Cosmic signals lunched out by microwave.

      But in searching NS for the link, I found that it's happened before: Take me to your microwave.
