Overclocking Amd's X570 Motherboard

This is a spin off of the "Generic Cpu" thread where I have been stumbling around trying to wring the most out of my Ryzen 3950x MB for CPU Crunching.

I have had some luck over clocking the 3950x on an Asus b450-f MB.  It turned out many of the parameters I needed to set in LLC and similar places were not available.

After some discussion I started hunting for Asus X570 MB's.

That is when I ran into the fact that the "asus-wmi-sensors" don't work on the X570 MB's.  Oops.

I really need to know how hot the CPU is getting.  And preferably what the CPU voltage is doing.

Given the strain the E@H message (and tasks) website is under this is going to be a less than smooth interaction.

Tom, you could run GKrellM

Tom, you could run GKrellM and Sensors and get the numbers you desire.

These readings are taken from my motherboard, ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII w/ Wi-Fi, though I'm running a 5950X.

At the top of the terminal, going down:

Composite:    +37.9°C  (low  = -273.1°C, high = +84.8°C)  (this is the NVMe SSD temperature)

And as you can see, the GKrellM (the other readings) is fairly obvious as to what those readings are, and they are very close to the "sensors" reading in the terminal window that I captured.

It is amazing.  I actually got onto the E@H website. 

I have gotten the Zen3 stuff installed and have much less confusing numbers to look at.

The Asus x570 Prime was an adequate place holder but does not really support OCing the cpu.

Now that I have gotten the settings on the Asus ROG Strix x570-E MB straightened around till the Q-Code shows "AA" it will be the next CPU OC candidate.

Yes they 'fixed it', it's back to past Pentathlon settings meaning we can get on here again.
