I've started to see this error message:

7/15/2005 12:37:06 PM|Einstein@Home|Message from server: You may have an outdated code verification key. This may prevent you from accepting new executables. If the problem persists, detach/attach the project.

The results files seem to be uploaded OK, and appear in my results table.

Something that I've done?

Edit: This message is being sent by the Einstein, Seti, and ClimatePredition servers. ( Those are the only projects that I'm attached to. )

Outdated code verification key?

You might want to look through the BOINC-Wiki put together by Paul Buck ...

here is a link that might help :

If I've lived this long - I gotta be that old!

The problem isn't with the account key, but with the 'code verification key', which doesn't seem to be defined in Wiki, or in the various .xml files that I've looked into.

Here are two messages of this type. The first from Seti, and the second series from Einstein. The results file that is refered to is listed in my results table, as being acceptable.

Try resetting the project(s)

Try resetting the project(s) first. If you still get the invalid key message you will have to detach and reattach. Once the key goes bad there is no way to recover the work that is currently on your system, because the servers will not accept it.

John,

I've been checking the results tables for my account, and the results that have been flagged with this error message in my message log, have been accepted as valid, and I continue to have new work DLed to be processed.

SPS posted on the Boinc/Seti forum, that he was getting the same error message, but with the beta version 4.71. [ I'm not alone :-) ]
