Did you know that BOINC hasn't been using the idle time by default for a long time? That the preference Suspend work while computer is in use? in the computing preferences is by default No?

To make things confusing, is that the local advanced preference of Computing allowed while computer is in use is by default On (so the exact opposite of the web preference. ;-))

But at least the part where it says that Einstein is using the idle time of your computer isn't completely correct, not out of the box. Perhaps when you set up your preferences yourself. :)

Not using idle time...

Well that's a fairly important point then, on a couple of levels.

How long is 'a long time' ie. when did this change ?

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

Since the E@H processes run

Since the E@H processes run at "below normal" or "low" process priority they will never interfere with any "non-idle" work on the machine. So in a sense the statement is still true.

exactly so. I've been set to run 100% of the time since forever
and just let the program shut itself down when I surpass 25% (or 1 cpu) use.
