I notice that one of my Einstein threads does not quit when I am on the computer. I have a quad core iMac and all the other threads appear to be suspended, but I can see one thread keeps increasing its progress. The status of this thread is listed as "Suspended - computer is in use (0.5 CPU's + 1 ATI GPU).
In Preferences, I do not have checked "Use GPU while computer is in use".
This problem appears to significantly slow down my computer display (jerky video and slow to change display in general).
iMac 2.7 GHz Intel core i5 w/12 GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD6770M graphics card with 512 MB RAM, OS X 10.8.2.
Been having this problem on and off for the past few months.
Any suggestions as to what to do to stop this from significantly degrading my computing experience?

You might like to take a look through this thread. You will find that others have experienced this and that perhaps it's a BOINC problem, possibly due to a 'race' condition. Perhaps that thread might contain some suggestions you could try.
Cheers,
Gary.
