I have been having some issues lately. Several times, I have come back to my PC to find that somehow BOINC was not running, even though it had been when I left.

Today, I expected the same, instead, I have no tasks running, and "Not Requesting Tasks" in the log. (See below.)

Not Requesting Tasks

I've seen this happen with a couple of my hosts, occasionally. On one machine, I seemed to cure it by changing the PSU. On others, giving the heat sinks and fans a good clean and renewing the thermal grease seemed to work wonders.

You have three hosts listed so it would have been helpful if you'd given a link to the one with the problem. I ended up using the task name (above in bold) and then searching each of the three tasks lists until I found it. It's in the tasks list for this host.

If you look through all the tasks shown there, you can find lots of examples of computation errors. The ones I looked at seem to be all "too many exit 0's" - ie the science app dies unexpectedly and BOINC keeps restarting it until a limit is reached and BOINC gives up. In my experience, you get lots of "exit 0's" when a host is under stress in the sorts of ways I mentioned above. They seem to disappear or become far less of a problem if the machine is adequately cooled and is running on good clean power. Another thing to check is swollen capacitors, either on the motherboard or in the PSU, particularly if these items are say more than two years old.

Cheers,
Gary.

These errors also happen when

These errors also happen when the Einstein science program and an antivirus/other anti-malware program are both trying to use the executable/directory.

Make sure to exclude the BOINC Data directory and everything in it from being actively scanned by your anti-malware program. See Add the BOINC Data directory to the exclusions of my antivirus program for how to do that on a lot of the programs in use.

Thanks for the replies. I

Thanks for the replies. I hope this is not a hardware issue, but I am afraid it is. I have also been having a problem with the GPU on this machine that forced me to suspend GPU processing. This machine does run pretty much 24/7, so I guess I will have to look at it a bit more closely.
