my computer is not getting work or running tasks. I believe I have checked everything that I can that is listed in the FAQs so I figured asking is the next step. What can I do to get up and running again?

not getting work

According to your contact log there is a problem with disk space.
The messages in there says you have lots of room free but it still wants you to free 0.0MB.

The message
"No disk space available: host.d_total 232.96GB host.d_free 8.46GB "
Followed by
"Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 needs 19.07MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 19.07 MB."
Seems weird to me.

My guess is there is there is some user limitation on disk space on your machine?
I'm not familiar with OSX so I can't help you more specifically.

Let's dissect the log

Let's dissect the log message:
These are your current settings in the preferences (either on the web or locally in the Manager):
No disk space available: disk_max_used_gb 100.00GB disk_max_used_pct 90.00 disk_min_free_gb 25.00GBThey translate to: use at most 100 GB and do not use more than 90% of total disk space and leave at least 25 GB free on the hard drive.

This is your current disk usage as visible to the Client:
No disk space available: host.d_total 232.96GB host.d_free 8.46GB host.d_boinc_used_total 0.02GBThis translates to: You have a hard disk with a total capacity of 232.96 GB of which are 8.46 GB free (which is less than 25GB) where BOINC currently uses 0.02 GB.

So there it is. BOINC stopped because you don't have enough disk space left for it to use. You have two options: 1. delete files and bring the free disk space above 25 GB or lower the setting to under 8 GB so BOINC can have some space.

Christian

Running any sort of computer with the hard disk over 96% full feels unwise in the long term. Depending on your needs and other uses for the computer, I'd suggest you consider transferring a substantial proportion of your files to some form of external archive, or - if the machine will take it - adding extra internal storage.
