Norton Internet Security will not allow the program to run even after I override and approve it to connect. I am not going to turn off internet security to run it. so what can I do? everytime it is approved the program locks up and I have to reset, not restart my computer (a 2.4 ghz pentium)

boinc.exe needs to have access out of your computer on port 80, and needs to act as a server on ports 1043 and 31416. BOINCMgr.exe and BOINCCmd.exe (If you have a recent enough build) both need access into your computer on ports 1043 and 31416 (the default is the loop back address 127.0.0.1 and some personal firewalls pass everything on this address by default).
