      information cannot be destroyed...

      there is no doubt in my mind that ancients exist in every way exactly as their information existed at any time...quite a bit better, i might guess from their ability to share their minds openly, without the idiotic human brain barriers...

      i would further speculate that their information had no start nor can it ever have an end...biology is not any more omnipotent than psychology or even parapsychology [e.g. Jeffrey Mishlove PhD Parapsychology UCLA]...

      i think, for decades, JM is still the only major univ. PhD in his field...

          My two favoured books on this subject were written by prof. Roger Penrose of Oxford University. The first (easier) is "The emperor's new mind". The second, more difficult, is "Shadows of the mind". Both stress the relevance of quantum mechanics in clarifying the brain to mind relationship (but see also the preceding works of prof. Karl Pribram of Stanford University). I have written to both summarizing my ideas on this subject and I received a very kind response from both. So encouraged, I did the same bold thing with two Italian physicists whom I personally knew. No one bothered even to answer "you are a crackpot". I would have preferred this to a no answer.

            thanks for the message tullio...for me, 'no news is good news' could mean NEVER listen to any news, which is what i try to do :) or if the other Italian physicists did not respond, that could still be good news someday, maybe they are trying to learn more about your ideas, as i must do, since i am only a messenger, i cannot even think of an intelligent question to ask you :)

            hopefully someone else will respond intelligently :)

                I think that Penrose's "The emperor's new mind" is still the best introduction to this approach to the brain/mind problem, far better than what I could offer. It came as a surprise to ne that a great theoretical physicist like Penrose could arrive to the same ideas that I had about 20 years before. But nobody would have listened to me, I am not an Oxford professor. Another readable book which also deals with this approach is "Disturbing the universe", by Freeman J.Dyson, another great theoretical physicist. It looks like I am in good company, but, as Christ said, nemo propheta in patria. Cheers.

                  but i thought in Italy, everyone is a prophet, maybe only if they come to USA:

                  an italian man came to America in 1900...in 1984, he was interviewed by the Italian American Society...they asked him why he came to America...and what he found there...

                      i found it impossible to do even with my own parents...

                      unless there is immunization in childhood, or some way to
                      protect the brain and body from natural predators of the

                      superstitious unique exorcism ritual, takes over the mind!

                      i could add too: i was born a genetically endowed scientist...
                      i simply never reached my potential because i was beaten up :)
                      my classmates hated me for getting As without studying much...

                      my father was genetically a hunter and fisherman, his father
                      endowed genetically as a gardener/horticulturalist, there was
                      simply no room in our battered minds for any common thoughts...
