Hi, I am getting the error messages:
9/16/2007 7:43:52 AM|Einstein@Home|Message from server: No work sent
9/16/2007 7:43:52 AM|Einstein@Home|Message from server: (won't finish in time) Computer on 0.5% of time, BOINC on 100.0% of that, this project gets 50.0% of that

My machine is actually up 100% of the time. Anybody have any ideas what BOINC is confused about and how to correct it?
I have tried the shut it down uninstall it and reinstall it path.

Hmmm... the stats are stored in the client_state.xml file, here's mine, for example:
...
0.817678
0.306420
0.971117
0.913536
1189949506.314964
...
Maybe a wrong (calendar) time setting can confuse BOINC??

Hmmm. That seems to be on the right track. My client_state.xml file definitely shows an on_frac of .05xxxxx. However, I shut everything down and editted the file then brought everything back up (including the boinc service).
I did have a DATE anomally with my machine a couple weeks ago. We lost power and when the machine came back up it thought we were in 2010 now. That would explain the problem in client_state.xml.
The question now is, does anybody know a way to fix it?

Eric

Problem resolved!
I evidently didn't take everything completely down before I editted the state file the first time.
I went back and made sure everything was down and editted the file and brought everything back up.
Now my cruncher is happily downloaded enough work to last a day or two instead of one at time with a very long due date.
Thanks for your pointer Bikeman!!

You're welcome!
Question to the BOINC developers here: could there be a way for BOINC to detect this and recover by itself? BOINC could reset the statistics if it detected a significant (say, > 1 month) warp backwards in time.
