Boinc stopped downloading work on at least one machine today.

The message file says:

Fri 14 Oct 2011 08:38:12 AM PDT	Einstein@Home	Message from server: No work sent
Fri 14 Oct 2011 08:38:12 AM PDT	Einstein@Home	Message from server: see scheduler log messages on http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu//host_sched_logs/4236/4236401
Fri 14 Oct 2011 08:38:12 AM PDT	Einstein@Home	Message from server: Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo) needs 140.50MB more disk space. You currently have 12.09 MB available and it needs 152.59 MB.

The link says something pretty similar:

Sounds like I'm running out of disk space but the disk tab of the manager says:
Total disk usage:
used by boinc: 162.62 MB
free: available to boinc: 9.84 GB
free: not available to boinc: 414.80 GB
used by other programs: 33.56 GB

Any suggestions. I don't have time right now to check other systems so I'm not sure how wide spread the problem is.

What do your BOINC startup messages say? Please exit & restart BOINC, then post its the first 30 to 40 lines of its startup messages.

Jord,

Sorry, I missed your message, evidently I forgot to subscribe to the thread. I just got home and for some reason the manager would not connect to the client. Reboots, restarts didn't help. So I unistalled and reinstalled and it seems to be downloading and processing OK. It is still downloading but 6 tasks are running.

I'm afraid I deleted those messages with the uninstall.

Now I did use the latest 64 bit linux version from Berkeley rather than the Ubuntu distro.

I'll report back if there are any problems.

Those messages are created with every start of the BOINC client.

The uninstall/reinstall seems to have solved my problem so I doubt the latest messages will give us a clue as to why it was failing but here they are:

Have a look at this message

Have a look at this message in your log:
Fri 14 Oct 2011 06:14:40 PM PDT | | max disk usage: 10.00GB

Probably, this is the case.

I don't get it.

900MB is usage of 9% so there is plenty of space, isn't there? That has not changed.
