Looking in this thread you may want to loose the trailing / when trying to attach.
Also look in that thread for other options.
According to the unofficial FAQ the Master File Fetch it's: This message from the BOINC Manager tells you that when attempting to contact the Project's Scheduling Server, that the "Index" Page of the Project's Web Site was not available.
The most common causes of this error is when your Internet connection has failed or the Project's Web Server is off-line.
Another cause is when the site is under heavy load
Einstein@home isn't under particular heavy load at the moment, since I can get units. So the things you should look at are your Project preferences and General Preferences. Have you set anything yet other than the standard options there?
Make sure you have your resource share in the Project's preferences, set to a cool number. Or if it's the only project you run, 100% is good enough.
It listens very narrowly for the amount of disc space that you allow BOINC to use in general preferences. Else try a simple:
Use no more than 4GB disk space
Leave at least 0.1GB disk space free
Use no more than 50% of total disk space
Write to disk every 30 seconds
Use no more than 75% of virtual memory
Connect to network about every 0.5 days
Submit those to the project, then try to re-attach. If it still doesn't work, disable Zone Alarm. I still think it's a POS, but that's my personal opinion. I never had any problems with a Kerio or Sygate firewall and BOINC, so heck. ;)
I uninstalled it again but this time I did search for remnants and got shot of them. A fresh download and it’s rockin. Maybe the original was corrupt or a bit missing, who knows. Why is the default disk usage such a silly high figure (100GB).
