Was crunching normally and suddenly had a error message on all my workunits "Error while computing" There is like 8 pages of rejected WU's right now.

Can't get work anymore.

The log also keeps repeating:

12.8.2021 20.38.32 |  | [error] Can't create HTTP response output file projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/einstein_O2MD1_2.09_windows_x86_64__GWnew.exe
12.8.2021 20.38.38 |  | [error] Can't create HTTP response output file projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/einstein_O2MD1_2.09_windows_x86_64__GWnew.exe

Edit:

Looks like it managed to download something after repeated attempts but the log now keeps saying:

12.8.2021 20.57.23 | Einstein@Home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
12.8.2021 20.57.23 | Einstein@Home | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU
12.8.2021 20.57.25 | Einstein@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
12.8.2021 20.57.25 | Einstein@Home | No work sent
12.8.2021 20.57.25 | Einstein@Home | (reached daily quota of 17 tasks)

According to the website you have 142 compute errors.  Several tasks look like they were partially completed.  All the rest show zero times. The partial one I looked at showed an error code of -185 ERR_RESULT_START with a longer message which said

couldn't start app: Input file hsgamma_FGRP5_1.08_windows_intelx86__FGRPSSE.exe missing or invalid: file missing

Looks like something happened to cause all your apps to be lost or become invalid so the entire cache of work would be trashed as a result.  This is why you now have a much reduced daily limit of 17 tasks.  Have you fixed whatever happened to cause the apps to disappear?  I guess you must have since you do have 17 tasks showing as "in progress".  You need to make sure the problem is really fixed, whatever it was.

You should carefully crunch the new work you have, if your apps are now restored.  With each successfully completed and returned task, your daily limit will double (17 -> 34 -> 68 ...) so you will quickly have the full daily limit restored.  As soon as a task finishes, use 'update' to report it.  This will cancel the backoff and double your limit to 34.

Cheers,
Gary.

Yes. It's running smoothly

Yes. It's running smoothly again so most likely it was some kind of a mysterious "hiccup" Took about 6hrs to get back on track. Wasn't sure if it's about my rig or a program error?

Greetings!! You might add

Greetings!!

You might add "solved" to the name of your thread - as it is resolved now...

You can find more about any error by looking in the log under tasks with an "error" status.

( einsteinathome.org -> account -> (Select your computer) -> tasks (The number)

Then, use the filter for errors.

Then pick a task ID, and scroll down through the log. The error is in there

The last error reported was:

couldn't start app: Input file einstein_O3AS_1.01_windows_x86_64__GW-opencl-nvidia.exe missing or invalid: file missing<

Apparently you, or windows did something to get the driver.

Looking in your logs, there are about 40 pages of tasks in progress.

You can cut this down by reducing the amount of advance work in advance. - perhaps to 1/2  day.

I am glad the problem was fixed and you can crunch again. (around 12 August 2021)
