Hi,

I run Boinc with the Projects Seti@Home and Einstein@Home on a QuadCore CPU, but only Seti@Home is going to download tasks and works. Einstein@Home is not Communicating with its Server. Both Task have each 50% of Resources, so Einstein@Home have enough Resources to work. But it wont do it.

No Task are being downloaded

The most probable explanation is that E@H got some more than it's fair 50% of the CPU time in the past (e.g. when Seti@Home is down or not supplying enough fresh units), so SETI@Home is now allowed to catch up a bit.

See this message for a procedure how to verify this is indeed the reason.

It cannot be a debt issue

It cannot be a debt issue because the host joined the project around 2 weeks ago and has never had any work by the look of things.

Possibly a basic misconfiguration like having the network disabled or the 'No New Work' flag set.

To the OP, what messages do you get if you select the E@H project and hit the update button? Are you sure the resource share is really 50%?

Cheers,
Gary.

Not that either as else he wouldn't get work from Seti either.

Hi! Sorry, my fault, I

Hi!

Sorry, my fault, I should have looked into the scheduler log first before jumping to conclusions:

2008-02-14 10:13:29.8291 [PID=3414 ] [debug ] [HOST#1101181] MSG(high) No work sent
2008-02-14 10:13:29.8291 [PID=3414 ] [debug ] [HOST#1101181] MSG(high) There was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated.
2008-02-14 10:13:29.8291 [PID=3414 ] [debug ] [HOST#1101181] MSG(high) An additional 24 MB is needed.
2008-02-14 10:13:29.8291 [PID=3414 ] [debug ] [HOST#1101181] MSG(high) Not enough disk space (only 75.0 MB free for BOINC). Review preferences for maximum disk space used.
2008-02-14 10:13:29.8291 [PID=3414 ] [normal ] sending delay request 3600.000000

You should allow (in the preferences linked in your profile here) E@H to use at least (say) 150 MB , better 200 MB of diskspace. Note there's more than one way to limit disk usage (both in terms of absolute space in MB and as fraction of the remaining free disk space), so you have to be a bit careful when configuring these constraints.
