Not yet. We want to make sure that the replacement server we are currently installing is up to the task of handling future GW searches. This took longer than expected but we are shortly at a point where we can move files from the old to the new server. After we made sure this is ok and we deleted the moved files we will enable BRP4G again.
I enabled workunit generation for BRP4G again. So far it seems all is going smoothly. Sorry for the long downtime, we had several infrastructure problems that prohibited us from enabling it sooner.
How much BRP4G work is there? I don't know because the server status page is still not working.
Will this run intermittent as new data arrives from Arecibo, which used to be 1-2 weeks and then a pause, or is there a large backlog now ?
I looked at the server status page and see that file upload handler medium einstein3 is disabled. I read in this thread though that the server status page isn't up to date. I can't seem to contact the servers to get more work. This is the log entries:
556 Einstein@Home 6/6/2016 10:58:03 PM work fetch resumed by user
557 Einstein@Home 6/6/2016 10:58:20 PM update requested by user
558 Einstein@Home 6/6/2016 10:58:22 PM Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
559 Einstein@Home 6/6/2016 10:58:22 PM Reporting 1 completed tasks
560 Einstein@Home 6/6/2016 10:58:22 PM Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA GPU
561 6/6/2016 10:58:23 PM Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
562 Einstein@Home 6/6/2016 10:58:23 PM Scheduler request failed: Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)
563 6/6/2016 10:58:24 PM Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.
I looked in Cruncher's Corner and didn't see any messages of similar nature from anybody else. Is it just me ... or is the project really unreachable currently? I am having no other issues contacting my other projects and getting work so network communications are working fine with other projects. Any one have a reason why I am having troubles?
Currently the file upload handler on einstein3 is working but not monitored by the server status page (the disabled entry is the "new" upload handler). Besides the progress reports for BRP4 and BRP6 the server status page is up to date.
Your scheduler request seems to go through as the log shows but somehow the response does not get through. I'll try to see if I can find out more on our side. In the past such problems where caused by desktop firewalls especially from Kaspersky. What Firewall and Anti-Virus software do you have installed?
Interesting... I JUST changed AV software to Kaspersky on both computers. I actually did look at the Kaspersky Firewall and network logs when I got the error because I am suspicious of this new software. Didn't see anything obvious in the logs but I could not be looking in the right areas since the software package is so new to me. I only seem to be having issues with Pipsqueek though, Keith-Windows7 is having no issues getting work and receiving the server request response acknowledgment back.
No more tasks available for BRP4G
)
We had to shut down BRP4G work generation for an upcoming upload server upgrade. Until then only BRP6 is available for GPUs.
Thanks for the info. Any idea

Thanks for the info. Any idea of the delay ?

This BRP4G work shortage

This BRP4G work shortage unfortunately will last until early next week. Your host should be able to do BRP6 after you enable it.

Any update on this? Thanks :)
