Even though the program is running there is no graphics showing. Later on the computer hangs with the error "thread stuck in driver string" or words to that effect. What can I do to correct this anomaly?

Looking into my crystal ball ;) I see that George is running WinXP SP2, BOINC 4.45 and Einstein client 4.79 on an Athlon XP(speed unknown) with 1Gig of RAM.
However, you will still need to provide the rest of the info, George :)

Lets me out, I'm a Mac guy - all I know about Windows (so far) is that if it's graphics related, it's probably related to the video card... :-)

Seti@home and climateprediction all show thier graphics as did Einstien@home until a few days ago when Einstien@home graphics disappeared never to be seen again!! Have tried to sort problem with updates of drivers from Windows Update with no success. Back to original system format that was running fine till the disappearance of Einstien@home, Any suggestions (Not derogatory) are welcome.

George

Most likely I'm on the wrong board, but I've got a Dell server with "tons" of time on its hands, but it runs Redhat FC4 and no windows. Can we do that?

I hope my comment wasn't taken as derogatory, it certainly wasn't meant that way... Anyway, I know the Mac version of the Einstein science app was updated just a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if the Windows version was, possibly when you started having problems. Anyone? If that's the case, then it's an officially-reportable "bug". If not, I'm not sure where to even start looking, someone else with much more Windows knowledge will have to help you.
EDIT:: Update - Bernd said in another thread, in the Cruncher's Corner today, that there was a problem in the build process recently and the graphics are messed up. This was a Linux thread, but I get the impression the problem may be the same for Windows. If so, a 'fixed' version of the app should automatically be downloaded to you as soon as it is available.
