The requests for new work from my computer to the scheduler are getting a response that there is not enough disk space allocated. According to my preferences, 100 GB are to be allotted. I don't really know if this is reasonable or not. All I do know is that things have been at a standstill here for most of the day.
I downloaded the screensaver (which I love) but I can't use it because it causes errors everytime it starts. Would my uninstalling the screensaver help? I don't know how to uninstall it, but I'm game to do it if I'm given instructions.
I'm stumped. Is there anything I can do to get things working again?
Thanks for any ideas.

No Disk space; E@H is just sitting idle.

Go to your preferences and change the 100g figure to a figure that is closer to the real amount of free disk space that you have......

If you want to use the screensaver (and the graphics bug is indeed your problem) you can download the beta app. From what I've read, it's pretty stable. Information on it can be located here
Personally, I don't use it because running the screen saver takes cpu cycles away from the science app.
Hope that helps with at least one of your problems.

Hi EllCee,
I had a quick look at your results list and you have been busy haven't you? :). You've been doing very well!! Unfortunately, available disk space does tend to get eaten up over time so you have obviously triggered a limit which should be fairly easy to fix.
First of all you will need to tell us the physical size of your disk and if you have multiple partitions or not. If you only have a fairly small disk and you only have a single partition, all you probably need to do is a disk cleanup and get rid of the stuff in your trash and also any temporary files. You may also need to uninstall any old unused programs that you don't need. An easy way to do a cleanup is to click "My Computer" and right click your C: drive icon and select "properties" from the context menu which appears. On the properties sheet which appears you will see details of free and used space and a "Disk Cleanup" button you can use to guide you through the cleanup process. Try doing a cleanup and then report back the free and used sizes after you have finished. You can worry about uninstalling or shifting other stuff later.
There are actually no "Client errors" in your list of results so I don't think you need to worry just yet about the screensaver. For the moment until normal crunching resumes, just set your screensaver to blank the screen. We can try to get it going a little later. If we need to, we can point you towards the beta application which hopefully will solve any screensaver problems.
Once you have done a disk cleanup, you can check your preferences to do with disk space on the website. Here is a rough summary of what you can check right now:-
here. You may need to supply your login details if you haven't already saved them in your browser.
* When you get to your account page, click on "View or edit general preferences".
* You will see five items in a section called "Disk and Memory Usage".
* Make sure 1st is large, 2nd is small, 3rd is large, 4th is 60 secs, 5th is large. My five values are 10GB, 0.2GB, 75%, 60 secs, 75%.
* If you need or would like to change, then simply click the "Edit preferences" link. When you make changes make sure you "Update" at the bottom of the section.
After changing on the website, simply open up your BOINC Manager window on your machine, click the project name on the project tab and the greyed out "Update" button will become active. Just click it to have your local BOINC client read the new changes from the website. If you don't do the "Update", it will happen automatically when the local client contacts the project servers anyway, but for changes like this, I like to do them immediately.
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers,
Gary.

Sorry Gary... I just made the assumption that the wu were actually erroring out. I'll look more closely next time.

Hey, your information was absolutely fine and I wasn't in any way "overriding" your suggestion. I just wanted to address more fully the disk space message as that was what had brought the sudden halt to the crunching. I was just trying not to worry about too many things at once :).
It's really good that you are in there helping out!!
Cheers,
Gary.
